Arhaar daal/ tuvar daal
How to make Arhaar daal/tuvar daal.

Ingredients:
For pressure cooking:
- 1/2 cup tuvar daal ( arhaar daal),
- 2 cup water,
- 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder,
- Salt as required,
For seasoning (tadka):
Step 5: Close the lid and pressure cook it on the medium flame for 15 mins, till they are cooked completely.
Step 10: Now your seasoning is ready, pour the cooked daal in it. You can adjust the consistency of daal by adding more or less water.
Step 11: Stir and simmer daal for a minute, then switch off the flame.
Step 12: Serve daal hot with jeera rice or plain steamed rice. You can also garnish daal with some coriander leaves while serving.

- 2 dry red chilies.
Methods:
Step 1: Take Arhaar daal in a bowl and wash it under running water. Drain it completely.
Step 2: Take the pressure cooker and put the daal in it.
Step 3: Add 2 cup water in it.
Step 4: Now add turmeric powder and salt.
Step 5: Close the lid and pressure cook it on the medium flame for 15 minutes, till they are cooked completely.
Step 6: Once the daal is cooked, keep it aside.
Step 7: In another pan , heat 2 tbsp oil or ghee.
Step 8: Add cumin seeds and red chillies.
Step 9: Sauté them for few seconds till they change colour and crackle.
Step 10: Now your seasoning is ready, pour the cooked daal in it. You can adjust the consistency of daal by adding more or less water.
Step 11: Stir and simmer daal for a minute, then switch of the flame.
Step 12: Serve daal hot with jeera rice or steamed rice. You can also garnish daal with some coriander leaves while serving.
