 Chura matar/ Matar poha Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cup thick poha,
  • 1/2 cup peas,
  • 1 small onion, chopped,
  • 1 small green chili, chopped,
  • 1/2 tbsp grated ginger,
  • 2 tbsp oil,
  • 6-8 pieces curry leaves,
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds,
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder,
  • 1 tbsp coriander seeds powder,
  • 1 tsp lemon juice,
  • Salt to taste,
  • 3 tbsp coriander leaves chopped.
           

How to prepare chura matar or matar poha recipe:

Method:

Step 1: Wash poha under cold water and drain it completely. Set it aside.
    
Step 2: Heat oil in a pan.
  
Step 3: Add curry leaves and cumin seeds.
         
Step 4: As cumin seeds start to sputter mix in chopped onions and grated ginger.
  
Step 5: Mix and cook until onions are translucent. Add chopped green chilli and cook for few seconds.
    

Step 6: Add all spices, salt, turmeric powder, coriander seeds powder, mix it all and cook for 2 minutes on medium flame.
         
Step 7: Add peas or other vegetables of your choice and cook for 2-3minutes.
  
Step 8: Add poha and mix it well. Cook for 1 minute.
  
Step 9: Now add chopped coriander leaves and mix. Switch off the flame. Poha is ready.
         
Step 10: Just before serving add lemon juice and serve hot.
